Frosty Moon Bug

This little filly is SOLD and doing really well with her new owner Kyla.
Frosty Moon Bug is a July 2008. She is true black with a strip and no socks. Super sweet and athletic! She is currently being halter broke and is doing really well. She will stand tied up like an old horse. This filly is going to mature to be about 15.2 to 16.1. She is bred extremely well also. A grandaughter of Leo Hancock Hayes and Frosty Feature. Her dam is a 1/2 sister to Charmayne James' black stallion A Black Feature. Here is a link to her pedigree.

VM Valentine

Lucky is a 3 yo black son of Leo Hancock Hayes and out of a foundation bred mare. Lucky is as close to Blue Valentine as you can get these days....a grandson. He is broke! You can also put kids on him. Lucky is trotting the barrel pattern. He gets hauled to barrel races and nothing bothers him. He has great bone and near perfect conformation. He is around 15 hands. Long mane and tail!! We work cattle and check fences on him. I rode him in the river for a few miles the other day; then in the woods, we saw deer, turkeys, dove, wild pigs and more....no boogers. Lucky would love to be a rope or ranch horse, but at my house he is stuck being a barrel horse.

Versace...We will miss you!

Monday, Sept 21, 2009...IPH Dapper Dan Man aka Versace was put to sleep at Equine Sports Med in Weatherford, Texas. Versace was taken Sunday to Equine Med Ctr in Granbury, Texas because while at a barrel race he tied up. The doctors at ESMS found that nothing could be done to repair a stress fracture to V's left humerus. While, Brandon and I have only owned V for a year, we had already been through allot with him. From sorting things out from the past about him to getting him to actually run to broken bones. After gelding him he was finally starting to fire during a run and clock. We had just decide to keep him as my personal horse. We have one foal by him that will be born next year out of Gucci, and Ducheneaux Qtr Horses will have one. Ruby may be bred to him but I doubt it. He won Res World Champ at the PtHA 2009 World Show. He won nearly $2000 in the 3D and prizes. He was starting to place in the 2D and work like a Kbar horse. I already miss him terribly. I know Poptart does...He does not have anyone to fight with. The barn is empty without him. It will be strange to go to a barrel race without him in the front of the trailer. Here are some photos videos of him.

I broke my #1 Rule...and paid for it!!!!

It has been raining, allot. Most barrel races and weekly jackpots are cancelled....most arenas in Texas just have grass parking lots. Diamond W is a really nice, big complex and has great parking!!! Being owned by a barrel racer...it was open for barrel racers tonight. Lisa...is awesome!

I rode Zion, Beau, Lucky, Braska and a client's horse, Holli.

I rode Zion last...we trot and lope some circles and a couple patterns...Well I decided to take him through one last time and go home..............Well, what was supposed to be a breeze through run turned in to him firing really hard and working his a$$ off! So, I went with it; I pulled him up coming off the 3rd and he coughed. And, coughed and coughed....for 5 minutes! I know he bled! I used to run him on Lastix and did not give him any tonight because we were not going to run, and I have not been giving it to him. Great!
My #1 RULE is I do not run my horses for free, ever. I do not run in exhibitions...I do not run at home. I understand that futurity horse are different at the beginning of the season because they can not be entered till December 1....Open horses should never be run for free. If you need to make a run most weekly Jackpots are $20.

Hopefully he did not bled very bad. He will be on some meds for bleeding tonight and from now on not be run for free and always on Lastix!
